Magic. The last frontier. These are the voyages of Victoria Rain. Its a life long mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new crafts and new hobbies, to boldly go where no man has gone before because I am no man. Just a woman with a mission!

Here is a fun list of products of I’ve enjoyed over years that seem to hold some sort of secret sauce to unlock my calm and creativity. Hope at least one of these trinkets makes their way to you and solves the frustration at hand! Consider this the sign that I maybe might have what you’re looking for. Or not! We will never know, will we?

DnD

Yes, I am a fan. No, I do not DM. Yes, I think I should too! In time after years of experience enjoying my days as just a player caught in the winds of chaos I will eventually try my hand at world AND community building. Until then these are the trinkets I use to alleviate stress and harness magic!

d100

  • Incredibly difficult to read (and roll if you don’t have a sturdy enough dice tray)
  • Anodized aluminum for those of you that also have metal allergies and sensitivities
  • I push and roll the die between both soft spots in my palm to help strategize
  • Makes for a great fidget when I’m waiting for my turn impatiently (Kryfa happens to have a lovely selection of gadgets to choose from if dice is not your thing!)
  • For all the pierced baddies out there, please for my sake check out this amazing

    Gifts for DnD Loved Ones

    Cup Holder

    • this also comes with a dice tray ( sold separately ) which is not required if you roll on a surface that you’re not concerned about ‘dinging’ up or messing/playing around on/with.
    • The catch tray for the dice itself comes out when upside down in order to protect your drinking comfort! Just remove the whole set while your drink is still unfinished. Or learn how to cover the die with your hand. Which ever you prefer!

    Toy Sword

    • Such an adorable set for any young one getting into all the roleplay and pretend magic the world of Dungeons and Dragons provides!
    • Also very handy to teach about numbers and 3D shapes because each individual die is part of a set of 7. Of course, each one represents a different value though many share the same amount of numbers on their many faces
    • If said giftee doesn’t care for dice you’ve still gifted a neat little sword in a sheath that has secret hidden compartments to store… whatever fits really

    ‘Mini’/”Many” Die Necklace

    • All things tiny have my heart, that’s just the way it is
    • This rattles a cute teensy tiny little bit that in no way could be misconstrued as a ‘bell’. It jingles more than it rings.
    • Holds a whole set of miniature dice even though it is just as cool when not in use!
    • Love that it comes with a keychain option too

    Dice

    • Seems obvious I know but Amazon is a great place to start a collection

    Speaking Of ‘Real Life’

Chop Chopper + Food Container = IRL Solution

I recently purchased a vegetable chopper thanks to the advice of a stranger on the internet. I have the great priviledge of being married to a home chef that does not mind the massive effort it takes to feed us both. Something I am not so good at myself but I’d like to be better for when I am on my own throughout the day. This makes an arduous task much quicker and significantly more accessible for me. Once it has completed chopping my cabbage, boiled eggs, chicken, red onions, olives (literally any combination of smol edible you would like) I take the top off. Now, it’s totally up to you whether you add dressing or not but I typically go for a vinegar or oil based dressing. Once everything is all inside I can just put the lid on and shake it up for an instant chopped salad! And my leftovers are then all ready to be put in the fridge! Just like magic.

*disclaimer; easy enough to clean too but some of the parts are fairly tedious to store

    Zelda

I think we can all agree that music is modern day magic. And just think about how technology has made learning and loving music so much easier! If you’re the type to tinker I have some instruments for you below. If you’re the to listen and appreciate, there’s plenty here for you too :hearts emoji:

    Ocarina of Time

    Majora’s Mask

There may or may not be some overlap here of another fixation of mine; neon signs. In this day and age its easier than ever to safely explore the world of lighting. What used to be chemical gas and delicate tubing is now LED strips and relatively affordable when compared to neon signs of old.

I haven’t ordered mine yet. Or even played this version of the game. But it has been recommended to me by sooooo many wonderful people. I know I’m missing out!

    Goddess Statue

If you aren’t familiar with the game the main character, Link, goes around saving the day and levels up according to his accomplishments. Once he’s conquered certain challenges he receives orbs that can be traded in for more health. This is the statue he prays to in order to make that transaction happen! I find a lot of peace and solace in this little statue and would love to make my own out of clay someday. But until then, I will have a lil sidekick watching over me in my studio.

    Hestu + Korok Lego Sets

Really any will do but I have a particularly fond attachment to the character of Hestu in the most two most recent Legend of Zelda games. All sets that I have were gifted by a friend who knows me well! And while I am not a lego person I am very fortunate to have a husband who is!

There is so much magic in this game and even just in the story and characters. If you’re ever interested in reading more about the legend without playing the game I highly recommend The Psychology of Zelda. I got mine in a used book store but I may even buy the digital copy as well.
