Many, many years ago now I picked up an old Nikon lens from Father & Son’s back when it used to be on Hargett Street. I bought the cheapest body I could find online and those two things have brought endless curiosity and fascination and joy! Back then I would roam the streets of downtown Raleigh taking pictures of people, buildings, flowers. That eventually caught the attention of friends and locals alike. From headshots to photos for local charities and artists I developed my own sense of style and haven’t looked back!
Now I live a very different life here in Pittsboro. Instead of tall buildings I’m surrounded by tall trees. The traffic noises outside come from squirrels and birds instead of cars and buses. After all these years though I still use what I learned from those city days to capture wonderful memories both in my life and others no matter where they happen.
